What can I say? Skateboarding is just one of the raddest things ever. As a kid it truly helped me attain the attention that I so craved. Unfortunately, that attention was from the likes of cops, security guards, jocks etc… Luckily it is a little more socially acceptable these days.
From the moment I first put my best foot forward, I knew I was in for a long ride. Now it's over 25 years later and I still enjoy it just as much. I don't even mind the aches and pains, to quote my father, an ex-motocross racer, "The pain just helps you to savor the enjoyment for weeks to come!"
The people that I have met through skating are some of the most unique, artistic and crazy people I have ever seen, and I know that we will be friends forever because of our common bond. Bring a board with you wherever you go and you are almost guaranteed to meet a kindred spirit.
I cannot wait to share skateboarding with my son, Wyatt. I see fathers and sons shredding together at the skatepark all the time and it just looks so awesome.
